Ack, I missed that Part Three’s second question was different. My go-to ship, hmm… that’s actually a really tough one because I like mixing it up so much. I’m gonna say the Guardian for Fed, the Aelahl for Rom, and the Qib for KDF. I like cruisers 🙂

This one is for the week three part….
Question 1: EVERYONE uses Photoshop
Question 2: I prefer carriers like nobody’s business. Full carriers, escort carriers, flight deck cruisers, whatever. Since I play all three factions, there is only one that can be considered a “go to” carrier, the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier! I just started half-way through the winter even last year and managed to grind that one with hours to spare. It was my first t6 ship and will always hold a special place in my heart.

For the week four post…
Question one: The process is called “Unwrapping” which seems counter intuitive since it goes all around the ship….
Question 2: Um, I really would prefer more expansion of the existing factions than new factions to get half completed. Adding in races like Ferengi for all factions (win), PC androids, Cardassians, etc. Also bits of dialogue that make it seem like your race has more of an effect on the story like when Reman captains deal with Obisek and stuff like that. The factions in end-game especially seem like they have little or no effect on missions and I don’t think adding a new faction would help that at all.
PS: In week three, didn’t Thomas say that *not* everyone uses 3D Max and Z-Brush, but then in week four he makes it sound like he said they all do use 3D Max?

3.1 Everyone uses Photoshop.
3.2 The Mogh-class cruiser. Just a wonderful ship, IMO.
4.1 It’s called unwrapping.
4.2 Before new factions, what I would want is more differentiation between play styles as various existing races. So for instance, some manner of material that makes playing as a Vulcan different from an Andorian or a human. Ditto for the KDF.

2.) Cardassians, I suppose. Borg would be fun, but only as a weird mini-faction with every single available SF, KDF and RRF race available to choose and ‘borgify.’ Honestly, though? I’m still waiting for the Romulan faction to have the damned Suliban added. 😦

It’s got a combination of the ability to build it in multiple ways effectively with several features not normally found in a big cruiser, namely the high turnrate, cloak, and Intel active sensors. I always seem to end up back in it even after using other ships — only the Avenger/Arbiter comes close.

Question 1: Unwrapping
Question 2: There aren’t too many options left for a faction that wouldn’t break the existing game setup. Of these, I’d probably pick Cardassian, as that would also give a good reason to further develop the Alpha Quadrant, which already feels kind of sparse and is probably going to be even worse come season 11 (with all of the old Cardassian arc episodes disappearing).

Q2 – What faction would I like to see added to STO? I’d like the Neu Romulans to become their own full faction, rather than a sub-faction of Fed/KDF. You could even have it happen as a story line at L50 or somewhere, or L60 post-Iconian as they cement their independence.
I don’t know that we need any more half-factions, like I feel Cardassians or Borg-lite would be.

They seem to be the most likely choice for another faction if people wanted another race/faction from the Alpha Quadrant with lots of references to Star Trek TV series. Other potential races/factions may have very little to draw on from Star Trek Canon.
