Day Two: Another Patch

General: “Blood of Ancients”: Resolved an issue where the player and Captain Kagren are sometimes stuck in the ground in the first cut scene. Resolved an issue where two music tracks were playing at the same time in the beginning cut scene. The surface of Lae’nas from system space now displays damage after the Iconians attack the planet. Resolved an issue where the Heralds would … Continue reading Day Two: Another Patch

Duty Officer Assignments, or “Shaka, When the Walls Fell”, now with maps ;)

One of the immediately visible changes in TIW (is it to soon to be abbreviating The Iconian War?) is the lack of sector walls and the incredible map eye-candy. The Starbase 157 system, with the new Sector Space Art. AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!! pic.twitter.com/gD5RxrVrhT — STO Admiral Daniel (@STO_Adm_Daniel) April 22, 2015 These changes are a huge improvement and certainly a favorite in zone chat.  But with any change … Continue reading Duty Officer Assignments, or “Shaka, When the Walls Fell”, now with maps 😉

First Impressions – Season Ten

SPOILER FREE Nowhere enough time left in my day to check everything out, but first impressions are really good.  The bugs aside (and there are many), I’m liking the direction of the story for Season 10.  The bank issues have me concerned as they are not part of tomorrow fix (ATM). Here we go: The first two episodes “Blood of the Ancients” and “Delta Flight” drop … Continue reading First Impressions – Season Ten

An Update on Lag, Weapon misfires, and the Benny-Hill rubberbanding.

From Reddit: @sarcasmdetector – Grumpy DPS Admin We got some information that some “under the hood” fixes had been implemented on the latest Tribble build that should have resolved some of issues we’ve been experiencing. A bunch of us DPSers took some high-powered toons into a couple ISAs, CSA, and KSA (on Tribble); yes the misfiring is gone and the lag is almost all gone. … Continue reading An Update on Lag, Weapon misfires, and the Benny-Hill rubberbanding.

New Season in 4 days. So what about the Lag and Rubberbanding?

Things are exciting this week in Star Trek Online; a new season, new fleet ships, new lockbox and lobi shinies, the return of Tom Paris, and the Delta Recruit program which is not only working well – but’s ridiculously generous in the rewards. A quick note on Delta Recruits – I finally got around to sharing the rewards with my 7 other alts who can access … Continue reading New Season in 4 days. So what about the Lag and Rubberbanding?

Prelude to Season Ten: LEAKS & LOCKBOXES oh MY!

Once again the data-mining masters have dredged up a slew of new ships and game elements for the upcoming Season X: The Iconian War.  As always this information violates the terms of service for the main forums and reddit.com/r/sto/, please do not link back to either. Just a curious thought:  Don’t people name the war after it’s over? Here we go (what we know so far): New … Continue reading Prelude to Season Ten: LEAKS & LOCKBOXES oh MY!

Robert McNeill Returns as Captain Tom Paris

The quest to reunite the original Voyager cast continues with the announcement today of the return of Admiral Captain Tom Eugene Paris.  Methinks his arrival may be tied to the upcoming ‘Pilot-specialization’ enhanced starships. I have to admit the coolness factor is pretty high, and they possibilities in-game are limitless.  While I’m certain this appearance will be used to sell another set of ships, ultimately I’d love … Continue reading Robert McNeill Returns as Captain Tom Paris

It’s Official – Star Trek Online: The Iconian War begins April 21st 2015

Nit picky stuff: For something that’s been “five years in the making” this first video is a bit underwhelming, and the least “Star Trek” of everything we’ve seen so far.   If they didn’t have the glory shot of the ships at the end, you could have mistaken this introduction for Neverwinter. Busy news day to come – Leaks of new ships, and the return … Continue reading It’s Official – Star Trek Online: The Iconian War begins April 21st 2015
